The Tasmanian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (TACC) has served the automotive industry in Tasmania since 1928.

There had always been a long standing and mutually supportive relationship between TACC and the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC).

TACC successfully lobbied state government on behalf of members for many years, but times were changing and in 1999 TACC and VACC were amalgamated. This merger offered members a more diverse range of services, while still maintaining a Tasmanian perspective on local issues.

Today we are dedicated to the promotion, representation and preservation of member businesses to local, state and federal governments, as well as the media, consumers and the community.

Federal and State government apprenticeship support

26 March 2021

Placing a TACC apprentice in a member-business has never been more affordable.

TACC recognises that there is a shortage of skilled workers and apprentices in the automotive industry, and that is certainly the case in Tasmania.

Newly announced government subsidies and payments will assist in turning that around.

TACC Auto Apprenticeships is eligible to receive new incentives for employing an apprentice and is willing to subsidise placing a TACC apprentice in member workshops.

The Federal Government is now offering up to $24,000 and the State Government is also offering some additional funding to TACC for placing an apprentice.

Let the Chamber reduce the hassle of red tape and stress. TACC will source, interview, conduct medical, aptitude test and induction for members.

TACC members are encouraged to contact their Area Managers to discuss employing an apprentice:
