The Tasmanian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (TACC) has served the automotive industry in Tasmania since 1928.

There had always been a long standing and mutually supportive relationship between TACC and the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC).

TACC successfully lobbied state government on behalf of members for many years, but times were changing and in 1999 TACC and VACC were amalgamated. This merger offered members a more diverse range of services, while still maintaining a Tasmanian perspective on local issues.

Today we are dedicated to the promotion, representation and preservation of member businesses to local, state and federal governments, as well as the media, consumers and the community.

TACC Multi Trades Pre-Employment Course APPLICATIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED AND ALL POSITIONS ARE FILLED

25 October, 2017

Applications have opened for budding automotive technicians for the TACC Multi Trades Pre Employment Course scholarships.

TACC believe one of the main reasons that apprentice and trainee completion rates are low is that young people don’t have the opportunity to trial, experience and learn about a range of vocational options before having to "sign up" to a long commitment.

The TACC Multi Industry Pre-Apprentice project aims to provide participants with the opportunity to have a "hands on" trial of 3 different automotive industries of their choice during the course. The project also supports host employers through the work experience component, as they can engage with a number of young participants through the project to find the best possible "fit" for their business.

To find out about this invaluable opportunity, or to download an application form, visit the information page in the Careers section by clicking here.
