The Tasmanian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (TACC) has served the automotive industry in Tasmania since 1928.

There had always been a long standing and mutually supportive relationship between TACC and the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC).

TACC successfully lobbied state government on behalf of members for many years, but times were changing and in 1999 TACC and VACC were amalgamated. This merger offered members a more diverse range of services, while still maintaining a Tasmanian perspective on local issues.

Today we are dedicated to the promotion, representation and preservation of member businesses to local, state and federal governments, as well as the media, consumers and the community.

2019 TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards

The best automotive businesses in Tasmania will be announced at the TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards in May 2019.

TACC instituted the awards in 2005 in recognition of the many excellent automotive businesses operating in Tasmania that offer exceptional customer satisfaction, unparalleled commitment to staff, and local community support. "The TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards clearly demonstrate TACC members’ dedication to excellence," says TACC General Manager, Mr Malcolm Little.

“Winners of the TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards really are Tasmania’s finest automotive businesses,” Mr Little said. 

Categories for the 2019 TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards include mechanical repair, under body repair, body repair, auto electrical, new and used car and motorcycle dealers, towing operators, and tyre dealers.

TACC has received many excellent applications from all over the state and the judging phase is currently underway. Judges are evaluating entries based on customer service, professional development, industry improvement, and environmental and occupational health and safety, to ensure that only the best applicants will be announced as 2019 TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards winners.

Category winners will be announced at a the 2019 TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards gala evening on Saturday, 25 May at Wrest Point Casino, Hobart.
