Christmas wishes
23 December 2022
It’s that time of year again when I get out the pencil and write my wish list to Santa.
So, this is what I would like for Christmas this year...
- Jobs. Everyone who wants a job can find employment.
- Business. All businesses – especially small businesses – get back on their feet because we can’t do without them.
- Safety. Everyone looks after their family and friends this season, at home, at work, everywhere.
- Government. Business and employment get a boost because the government lowers the payroll tax threshold.
- Youth. Every young person has access to a decent job, because we all value training and apprenticeships.
- Roads. This one is two-fold – I’m wishing for government to kick-start initiatives that will make our Tassie roads safer, and a fair road user system for everyone, whether driving an internal combustion engine car or electric vehicle.
- Technology. Flying cars become a reality, but maybe not this year...
- Driving. Everyone inspects their tyres, restraints, lights and brakes before heading off on holidays, or has someone do it for them.
- Fun. Oscar Piastri wins at his debut Aussie Formula 1 race at Albert Park in 2023.
- Dreams. Last, but certainly not least, I’d like a 1970 Ford Lotus Cortina MkII GT – a white one, with a green stripe.
However you’re celebrating (or not), enjoy the break and please be careful and considerate on the road. Then you’ll really make my wishes come true.
