Holiday wishes

It’s time again to get out my pad and pencil and write my wish list to Santa. 

So, this is what I would like for Christmas this year.

1. Safety. Everyone looks after their family and friends this season, at home, at work, everywhere
2. Business. All businesses – especially small businesses – get back on their feet because we need them
3. Jobs. Everyone who wants a job can find employment
4. Technology. Flying cars become a reality, but maybe not this year...
5. Youth. Every young person has access to a decent job, because we all value training and apprenticeships
6. Roads. A fair road user system for everyone, whether driving an internal combustion engine car or electric vehicle
7. Government. Business and employment gets a boost because the government lowers the payroll tax threshold
8. Driving. Everyone inspects their tyres, restraints, lights and brakes before heading off on holidays, or has someone do it for them
9.  Fun. Oscar Piastri wins at his debut Aussie Formula 1 race at Albert Park in 2023. And I’m there to witness it with chamber members, as part of my THE GRILLE podcast duties at the VACC President’s Breakfast
10. Dreams. Last but certainly not least – I’d like a Bugatti Chiron, please Santa. A blue one.

You may – or may not – celebrate this holiday season. Either way, try to enjoy the break and please be careful and considerate on the road.

Then you’ll really make my wishes come true.
