Shepparton’s motor museum calls

As Victoria opens and we can once more attend events, movie theatres, and galleries, I recommend to you MOVE.

The Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) in Shepparton has undergone an impressive expansion and upgrade over the past year and is open to the public.

I am pleased to announce VACC as a major sponsor.

The connection between VACC and MOVE is obvious. Of course, VACC is all things automotive. What is less well known is the Chamber’s long and dear association with regional Victoria.

A collection of vehicle dealers in Bendigo founded VACC in September 1918, and for evermore regional members have been loyal and longstanding. VACC already boasts two 100-year member businesses, and both are in regional areas.

MOVE’s impressive expansion houses more than 60 cars, a notable collection of motorcycles, and a truck pavilion that includes tributes to transport industry legends.

Depending on the time of your visit, you’re likely to see Chevies, Mustangs, MGs and Jaguar cars, Harley-Davidson and Triumph motorcycles, and Mack, Kenworth, and other trucks.

While you’re there, you can also browse the new Loel Thomson Clothing Collection, a fascinating showcase of 200 years of Australian fashion, and the Farren Bicycle Collection, one of the world’s most important two-wheel displays.

Fans of big rigs will love the Kenworth Dealer Truck Pavilion, while there’s a terrific assortment of gramophones, telephones, and radios, and it wouldn’t be Shepparton without a brilliant display of iconic Furphy water tanks.

So, head on up the Goulburn Valley Highway and check it out for yourself.
