Electric vehicle safety course

3 August 2023

VACC’s course in depowering and reinitialising battery electric vehicles is essential training for anyone working with these complicated and potentially dangerous machines.

Participants will learn how to safely depower a vehicle’s high voltage rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) and separate extra low voltage (SELV) system, and to reinitialise the RESS and SELV, confirming correct vehicle operation. This course is for those working in the automotive industry, including service and repair sector workers, towing operators and EV dismantlers.

Completing the first stage provides the training required to access repair information relating to high voltage automotive systems.

The one-day course will be held on Saturday 12 August at the Outer North Trade Training Centre in Lalor. VACC members qualify for a 60 per cent course discount. There are limited places so register now.

Regional courses are planned to run in Mildura and Swan Hill in September.
