Stay safe this summer

18 December 2020

As Australia begins to recover, members are reminded to stay vigilant and maintain their COVID safe operations this summer.

In accordance with the State Government COVIDSafe principles, businesses must:

  • ensure physical distancing (1.5 metres)
  • wear a face mask (where practical)
  • practise good hygiene
  • keep good records and act quickly if staff become unwell
  • avoid interactions in close spaces
  • create workforce bubbles.

Additionally, a COVIDSafe Plan for onsite operations is required. Members are encouraged to contact the VACC OHSE Unit for assistance in relation to their COVIDSafe Plans on 03 9829 1265.

To help members save time and safeguard staff and customers, the Chamber has partnered with Wavin to take the hassle out of contact tracing. Wavin is a contactless check-in system that lets customers wave their phones over a sensor that is placed at the entry of a member-business – no need to download an app. Once the customer enters their details the first time there is no need for them to provide their details again, they simply 'wavin' at their next visit. To learn more, members can contact their Area Manager or call Membership on 1300 013 341.
