Workshop Details
Level 3 Workshop:
High voltage training to European ECR R100 Standard
2.5 Day In-Person High-Voltage Certification Training
Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in high-voltage (HV) systems through the following key topics:
- Understanding parallel and series electrical circuits
- Functions of resistors, diodes, and capacitors in HV systems
- Application of Ohm's Law
- Operation of transformers and rectifiers
- Functions of relays and transistors
- Vehicle intake procedures and essential safety measures
- Determining the state of the HV battery
- Performing four-wire measurement methods
- Conducting insulation tests
- Diagnostic techniques for electric vehicles
- Executing manufacturer disconnect procedures and verifying zero potential in electric vehicles
- High-Voltage Theoretical and Practical Exam
- Theoretical Exam: 45-minute multiple-choice test
- Practical Exam: 30-minute hands-on assessment, including:
- Certified disconnect procedure
- High-voltage system diagnostics
- Identification of bonding and insulation faults
Level 4 Workshop:
Working on Live High-Voltage Systems and Components
This advanced course is tailored for automotive professionals with Level 3 certification who seek training in live high-voltage conditions. This training enables technicians to safely service and repair HV batteries and associated components.
2 Day In-Person Training Objectives:
- Safe disconnection and securing of live vehicles
- High-voltage battery removal processes
- Personal protective measures for live-condition work
- Battery module removal and replacement procedures
- Insulation resistance testing for open batteries
- Use of a two-pole voltage tester on battery modules
- Battery enclosure and coolant testing
- Diagnostic methods for live electric vehicles
- Replacement of high-voltage battery contactors
- High-voltage battery cell balancing
- Safe diagnostic strategies for live system states
