VACC welcomes re-elected Andrews State Government

25 NOVEMBER 2018

The Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) congratulates Daniel Andrews and the Victorian Labor Party on its return to office for a further four years.

VACC looks forward to working with the Andrews Government to progress key automotive retail industry issues such as the review of the Duties Act 2000, regulation of Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry Code of Conduct and readdressing the Victorian payroll tax threshold to bring it in line with comparable states.

“We have had tremendous engagement from the Victorian Government after the release of our state election manifesto Better Business. Better Victoria and wish to see this momentum remain,” said VACC CEO, Geoff Gwilym.

“Automotive retail contributes over $9.6 billion annually to the Victorian economy and employs over 100,000 people in this state. It must, therefore be front of mind for any government, as this sector will grow with continued support and sensible policy reform.

“We are excited to be working with the Andrews Government once again,” said Mr Gwilym.

VACC represents over 5,200 automotive industry businesses and employs over 550 auto apprentices in Victoria.
