VACC Team Joins National Business Leaders' Summit in Canberra

7 November 2024

Joining over 300 industry leaders and policymakers for crucial discussions on Australia's business future.

Hosted by the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI), the summit focused on "Business in 3D" - examining the critical challenges of deregulation, decarbonisation, and digitalisation facing the private sector across all timeframes.

ACCI CEO Andrew McKellar led the event, which culminated in a gala dinner featuring guest of honour Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. In his address to the assembled business leaders, the Prime Minister acknowledged ACCI's valuable contributions to national policy development and dialogue.

For the automotive industry, these "3D" challenges represent both opportunities and obstacles:

  • Deregulation: Streamlining compliance requirements while maintaining industry standards
  • Decarbonisation: Adapting to emerging environmental regulations and sustainable practices
  • Digitalisation: Embracing technological advancements in automotive operations and service delivery

The summit provided VACC representatives with valuable opportunities to engage with other chambers, associations, and key decision-makers on these pressing issues affecting Australia's automotive sector.

Taking place in the historic Old Parliament House, the event reinforced the importance of collaborative approaches to industry challenges and highlighted the automotive sector's crucial role in Australia's economic future.
