The Victorian State Government has announced metropolitan Melbourne businesses are set to move to operating settings closely matching those in regional Victoria. From Thursday, 10 June at 11.59pm, most Melbourne businesses will be free to operate, so long as they have and use a COVIDSafe Plan.
All businesses must also operate using a QR code check-in system. Members can download the free Victorian Government QR Code App from the Victorian Government’s Coronavirus website.
A free QR code poster pack is being prepared by VACC and will arrive at all member businesses in the coming days. These and other posters can be downloaded now.
The five reasons to leave home will no longer apply in metro Melbourne, and the existing 10-kilometre limit will be increased to 25 kilometres.

UPDATE 10 June 2021: The Acting Victorian Premier has announced one change to the COVIDSafe Settings that will take effect. Face masks will continue to need to be worn within metropolitan Melbourne both indoors and outdoors. Previously, face masks were only going to be required to be worn outdoors, where 1.5 metres social distancing could not be maintained.
All previously announced easing of restrictions remain otherwise unchanged. See related member Bulletin.
