Stock shortage survey

15 February 2021

Member feedback indicates stock shortages, caused by supply chain issues as a result of COVID-19, are at critical levels – with some member dealers saying they are down to display level stock only. This has ongoing impacts for the dealership model and other aftermarket industry participants who depend on dealerships as a source of business.

VACC met with the Department of Industry, which requested a snapshot of the supply chain issues the Franchise Dealer sector is experiencing.

As a result, New and Used Car, Motorcycle, Commercial Vehicle and Farm Machinery Dealer division members are encouraged to participate in a new Chamber survey.

Take survey: Franchise Dealer Supply Chain Issues

Closes Friday, 19 February 2021 at 5pm.

Once member insights are gathered and analysed, VACC will liaise further with the Australian Government and other industry stakeholders in a bid to alleviate pressures caused at the import and distribution level. Data will be made available to members.
