The Federal Government plans to invest $74.5 million into the take-up of emissions-free vehicles across Australia.
Under the aptly named Future Fuels Fund, the plan is to subsidise business adoption of electric vehicles and corresponding infrastructure.
Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction, Angus Taylor confirmed that further details will be released in coming weeks, however, it is expected that funds will be used to upgrade workplace power supply to allow for on-site fast charging, enable the purchase of electric cars for commercial fleets and improve access to charging sites across the country.
The Future Fuels Fund is part of the government's $1.9 billion investment package in future technologies in a bid to lower emissions, a move that includes the funding of a hydrogen export hub and carbon capture projects.
