Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews has confirmed specifics of the Stage 1 restrictions that have been put in place to help combat the spread of Coronavirus. These measures are set to come into play from midday Monday, 23 March until at least 13 April 2020.
These measures are being taken in order to limit people's attendance at social venues, therefore unless VACC members fall into one of the below categories their business(es) can stay open and operating. It is crucial that social distancing remains a top priority in the workplace, and if employees can work from home this should be strongly considered by management.
Businesses affected by Stage 1 restrictions include:
- Pubs, registered and licenced clubs (excluding bottle shops attached to these venues), hotels (excluding accommodation)
- Gyms and indoor sporting venues
- Cinemas, entertainment venues, casinos, and night clubs
- Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway and/or home delivery
- Religious gatherings, places of worship, weddings or funerals (in enclosed spaces and other than very small groups and where the one person per four-square metre rule applies).
