The current Coronavirus (or COVID-19) situation is changing consumer and business behaviour. To be best prepared for current and near-future conditions, it is important to source factual information and to keep up to date with the unfolding circumstances.
The VACC OHS&E and Industrial Relations departments have been receiving a high volume of calls from members regarding the outbreak, concerning the welfare of employees and customers – as well as ensuring the long-term viability of their businesses.
To help, VACC is conducting a teleconference for all members. Industry experts will cover a broad range of potential scenarios, such as if a business is forced to close and steps to take if staff are returning from overseas trips from affected countries. Additionally, specific member questions will be answered.

In addition, to assist workshop managers and staff on the safest procedures when working in and around motor vehicles, VACC has prepared a downloadable information sheet. It is recommended that this be printed and displayed in various parts of business premises to educate all staff on the safest working practices. Download sheet here.
