Aspire to a resource-efficient and sustainable automotive industry, and reduce environmental compliance costs on businesses.
Additionally, to encourage the use of new automotive technologies that will reduce the damage to the environment.

Recommendations

• The Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA Victoria) should collaborate more with industry when determining environmental compliances and regulations
• The EPA should emphasise practical guidance and solutions for small businesses. This should be done in a format that can be easily understood by the general public
• Regarding Tasmania, there should be more involvement from the regulators such as the EPA, TasWater, and local councils, in aiding automotive businesses in minimising their waste
• There should be encouragement towards the recycling of automotive waste products.
