VACC Independent Assessment Program

Skilled apprentices are the key to the future of our industry. The VACC Independent Assessment program aims to identify barriers in apprenticeship training and recommend solutions.

VACC, supported by Apprenticeships Victoria, will assess the proficiency of 3rd and 4th year apprentices in both light and heavy vehicle workshops. Independent trade qualified assessors will evaluate apprentices across dealerships and independent workshops and in regional and metropolitan Victoria. An independent assessment is delivered independently of the training provider that has been teaching the apprentice.

The program will:

  • Identify training barriers that result in apprentices not meeting industry expectations
  • Produce recommendations to improve training outcomes.

The program is a critical component in ensuring our industry remains at the forefront of training and innovation. The information gained throughout the course of the program will be used to improve the training system, designing an apprentice training framework for the future.

To show VACC’s appreciation for participating in the program, the apprentice and their workplace will receive a gift.
