SRO VOLUNTARY DISCLOSURE EXTENSION UNTIL 31 JULY 2018

Members have previously been advised of a State Revenue Office (SRO) Bulletin D01-18 that announced the opportunity for dealers to voluntarily disclose where they may have incorrectly obtained duty exemptions for motor vehicles registered and/or used as service demonstrator or loan vehicles.

VACC has written to the SRO to seek an extension of the original deadline of 30 May 2018 for dealers to take advantage of the amnesty. VACC has been advised that SRO will extend the disclosure deadline to Tuesday, 31 July 2018. You can find out more from SRO by taking this link.

Members are advised that VACC in conjunction with its dealer members and professional advisors has sought a meeting with SRO at the highest level to discuss the impact of D01-18 and other areas relating to service loan demonstrators and areas affecting a vehicle’s dutiable value. VACC will keep its dealer members informed of any outcomes.
