Coronavirus: Vic enters sixth lockdown

5 August 2021

The Victorian Premier has announced a seven-day snap lockdown throughout all of Victoria beginning from 8pm tonight.

Similar to last month’s snap lockdown, there will again be only five reasons for people to leave home:

  • getting necessary food and supplies
  • care and caregiving
  • exercise (up to 2 hours per day)
  • authorised work and permitted education if it can’t be done from home
  • to get vaccinated at the nearest possible location.

The limitation on exercise and shopping will be five-kilometres from home – or the closest location (if not within the five-kilometre radius).

Whilst the Victorian Premier has indicated that other restrictions and arrangements will also be broadly in line with the last lockdown, VACC will provide a further update once the details have been released.

In the interim, the VACC Workplace Relations team is available to answer questions and provide support. For COVIDSafe Plan obligations, members can contact the VACC OHSE Unit for more information.
