New QR Code record keeping requirements

9 June 2021

The Victorian Government announced new electronic record keeping requirements as part of new measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 that took effect from 11.59pm on 3 June 2021. On 9 June 2021, the Acting Premier announced that the Victorian Government QR Code App requirements would continue, and become mandatory from 11 June 2021 for all Victorian workplaces (with very limited exemptions).

As part of our efforts to keep members informed, VACC will continue to provide electronic Bulletin updates as changes to the Victorian Government COVIDSafe settings evolve. If members have not done so already, they can download the free Victorian Government QR Code App from the Victorian Government’s Coronavirus website.

The Chamber has also created a poster, as a resource to assist members to meet their obligations to make reasonable efforts to ensure customers, visitors and workers check in using the Victorian Government QR Code App.

The poster adds to the existing resources available for members to use to help stop the spread of coronavirus in the workplace, including the wearing of masks, sanitising hands, maintaining social distance, and density quotient requirements (currently one person per four square metres in shared spaces and publicly accessible areas at the work premises).

VACC also recommends that the recent changes provide a good opportunity for members to review their COVIDSafe Plan to ensure it remains current and the requirements are being adhered to and communicated with all relevant staff.

Members are encouraged to contact the VACC OHSE Unit or the IR Department if they require any further information or assistance.
