Coronavirus: Victorian seven-day circuit breaker

27 May 2021

Victoria will enter a seven-day circuit breaker lockdown from Thursday, 27 May 2021 at 11.59pm, in a bid to contain the growing cluster of cases in the state.

VACC confirms automotive, as an essential service, can remain open during this time. However, vehicle and parts sales operations are limited to click-and-collect services only.

Permitted Worker Permits are not required.

VACC reminds members it is mandatory for every business with onsite operations to have a COVIDSafe Plan. Additionally, businesses must operate based on six COVIDSafe Principles including physical distancing, practising good hygiene, and wearing a mask.

Wherever possible, contactless services are advised, such as pickup and delivery (parts and vehicles) and key drop-off box facilities.

During this time face masks must be worn inside (except in the home) and outdoors, and Victorians will be permitted to leave their homes for five reasons only:

  • Food and supplies, limited to one person per day, per household
  • Authorised work
  • Care and caregiving
  • Exercise for up to two hours, with one other person
  • Getting vaccinated.

For full lockdown details, refer to the Statement From The Acting Premier

The circuit breaker lockdown will be in place until at least Thursday, 3 June 11.59pm.

The Chamber OHS&E Unit is available to support members and answer questions they may have about updating or maintaining their OHS&E obligations.
