Victoria snap lockdown ends

17 February 2021

Premier, Daniel Andrews has confirmed Victoria will end its five-day lockdown as planned on Wednesday, 17 February at 11:59pm. The news comes after the state recorded no new locally acquired coronavirus cases overnight.

Members are advised that some COVID-19 restrictions will apply post-lockdown:

Work: Workers may attend onsite as required, however, onsite office work will be capped at no more than 50 percent of a workforce onsite (both public and private sectors). All workplaces with onsite workers will require a COVIDSafe Plan.

Face masks: Must be carried at all times and are mandatory when inside – except in the home – as well as outdoors, when one cannot maintain 1.5m physical distancing (unless a lawful exemption applies). It is strongly recommended to wear a mask when visitors attend the home.

Leaving home: No restriction on reasons to leave home will apply.

Public gatherings: Up to 20 people may gather outdoors from any number of households, infants under 12 months will not be included in the cap.

Visitors to the home: Up to five visitors to visit the home in a day (infants under 12 months not counted in the cap). Visitors to be from any number of households and may visit either together or separately. Front and backyards are considered part of the home.

The Victorian Government has released an updated list of restriction changes in preparation for lifting the lockdown: COVIDSafe Summer – from 11:59pm Wednesday, 17 February 2021

Additionally, VACC members are encouraged to refer to the Victorian Government's dedicated COVID-19 website for the latest updates.
