Women in Automotive (WinA)

It is important to recognise and celebrate women in the automotive industry and VACC's special interest group, Women in Automotive (WinA) is on a mission to do that – and more!

The achievements and contributions of women in the industry are significant. Women steer their own automotive businesses, family run operations, work as tradespeople, technical advisors, drivers, administrators, salespeople and in other professional roles.

In so many ways women and their achievements go unseen purely because automotive is still predominantly a male industry.

Lack of representation is just one issue that the automotive industry has inherited from the past. Notable, as it is a highly technical and forward thinking sector in so many ways. Attention needs to be paid to the issues that hold the industry back.

The Women in Automotive (WinA) team has eyes firmly fixed on the future.

VACC recognise that many businesses in the industry support, promote and provide opportunities to women but overall, this is not seen to be done and the industry is poorer as a result.

The purpose of WinA is to recognise and celebrate women of the automotive industry: publish profiles of women from automotive businesses, develop careers with education and scholarships, provide opportunities for communication and hold interesting and fun events too.
